יום שלישי, 14 באוקטובר יתרחש בעוד עשרה ימים בלבד. כלומר שעדכוני האבטחה החינמיים ל־Windows 10 ייפסקו. טוב, לא בדיוק.

Microsoft החליפה דרכי פעולה מגוון פעמים במהלך השנה וכעת היא מציעה תמיכה מורחבת „בחינם” למשתמשי Windows 10 למשך שנה עד 14 באוקטובר 2026. עדכוני האבטחה האלה משווקים כאילו הם בחינם, אבל יש אבל (כי תמיד חייב להיות אחד כזה): צריך לקשר את תוכנת ה־Windows 10 שלך לחשבון Microsoft, למרות שהאפשרות הזאת תקפה רק בתחומי האזור הכלכלי האירופי. חיים מחוץ לאירופה? צריך לשלם עם מה שנקרא Microsoft Reward Points או על ידי העלאת הנתונים שלך לענן של Microsoft. או לשלם למעלה מ־100₪ ל־Microsoft.

היום אנו משיקים את „תום עידן ה־10” (endof10.org) ומביאים את בשורת הלינוקס למשתמשי Windows 10!

ב־14 באוקטובר 2025, תפסיק מיקרוסופט את התמיכה ב־Windows 10. מיקרוסופט לא תספק עוד עדכונים למערכת וכתוצאה מכך בין 200 ל־400 מיליון מחשבים ניידים ושולחניים ברחבי העולם יהפכו לסכנות אבטחה ופסולת אלקטרונית מזהמת במיוחד.

המחשב שלך עלול להיות אחד מהם.
