When can I publish our repair café or independent computer shop at endof10.org?
You can add your location right now if you offer GNU/Linux installation! The easiest way is to send as much of the following information as possible by email to endof10 [at] lists.posteo.de. You can find a description of the information we need for places and for events at the Git repo's readme.
If you have the technical know-how, you can help us out by providing that information in a Merge Request changing the JSON of the End of 10 website's repository.
How can I get involved with the campaign?
There are many ways to get involved:
- Add repair cafes and independent computer shops offering GNU/Linux to our website
- Organize installation events
- Train volunteers at repair cafes in your area
- Design materials for new users like how-tos, promotional flyers, etc.
- Distribute materials in cafes, shops, universities, schools, and so on in your area
- Help with our online presence (social media promotion, website, etc.)
- Translate materials like the website, infoflyers, etc. (more below)
- Volunteer with FOSS communities participating in the campaign (improving documentation, software debugging, design)
- Your ideas!
Please contact us so we can coordinate your efforts with ours.

Why isn't <insert favorite distro here> promoted on the website?
The End Of 10 website as well as campaign press releases, campaign info-flyers, etc. are purposefully distro-agnostic. We want it to be possible for campaign materials and activities to be adopted and referred to by all FOSS communities.
Does distro-agnostic mean FOSS communities cannot promote their own work?
Individual FOSS communities are welcome to promote their own work in the context of the campaign, with two caveats: (i) it must be clear you are speaking for your community and not the campaign, and (ii) you do not speak negatively about the work of other communities. For example, one of the planned activities is a "10 reasons to …" social media campaign with the hashtag #EndOf10
. In this context:
- A community may do outreach to end-users from their own social media account with a "10 reasons to switch to <insert favorite distro here>" while including the
#EndOf10
hashtag. However, in the list of reasons it would be unacceptable to disparage any other distro or FOSS community. - By contrast, activity from the official End of 10 social media account will not promote any specific distro, and instead remain distro-neutral (e.g., "10 reasons to switch to GNU/Linux").
